Still recovering from a small injury , I ran for the first time in what seemed like a long two weeks. I am so glad I got to enjoy this view.

As I get ready for some much-needed R & R, I am also gearing up for our annual back to school camping trip. A trip that my daughter, after our first time camping, suggested, “We should do this every year!” The trip wasn’t a complete disaster but it wasn’t the greatest either but we decided to honor her request. After all, it was simple enough. This years adventure begins in an area that we are all waiting to explore. I will be interested to see what the state of Kansas has to offer. The one thing that we do know is that we are in for an adventure. I for one am looking forward to the few relaxing evenings under the stars.
Hiking, biking, swimming and sightseeing, are only a few things we have on the agenda for this year, although I do plan to sneak away to get a few hours of fishing in as well. With our recent move from the beautiful mountains of Southwest Virginia to the flatlands of Kansas, we are hoping that this trip doesn’t have us wishing there’s no place like home.

This weekend, instead of a science project, My daughter final got me to climb and jump off of the rock wall. The rock wall is a feature at our local swimming pool. Both my son and my daughter have climbed and jumped during many of our trips to the pool. Because of my study schedule however, I have not joined my children. They have proven to me once again, that It is not what you do with your children, It is simply that you do something with them. While my daughter enjoyed climbing and jumping with me, My son enjoyed seeing me make it to the top.
