I don’t know how many times I’ve said, while speaking to friends or clients, “you need to back up your work!” Data recovery is one of the most time-consuming jobs that I perform. It is also the simplest to avoid. By backing up your computer on a systematic basis you can recover from any type of data loss you may encounter. And if you do need support, I’m only a few click or a phone call away.
Here is a three-step process for establishing a back up system.
First, you need to do is choose a back up program. Many people choose to use the Operating Systems (OS) built-in Back up utility. If you are like me and don’t trust the OS to alway operate as designed. then you may want to choose a third-party software. one such software is Acronis. you can visit their website to see if their solution fits your needs.
Second, Once your back-up software is in place you need to configure it. Depending on how much you use your computer, how much data you have you may cont to consider a daily deferential backup. For you Initial backup however it is suggested that you do a full backup. and an incremental backup there after.
Third, after your software is configured, this is the most important of the three steps, ensure you back up the data to a separate external storage device.
With these processes in place you limit your risk of losing data and can recover from any type of disaster.
