A Man’s Peace
CLS 12.25.2023
A man finds peace in one of two places.
Spaces of joy without glaring faces.
To the touch of a woman, though she may not be his own
Or to the bottom of a glass far from his home.
A man finds solace there, but also the shame
Comfort for the night, a face with no name
A place to work out all the pain and anguish
Stuck in a loop till with the pain, he’ll vanish
A man finds peace through ass or glass
Both provide comfort, though neither will last
Though thought-killed dreams, he lies awake
If the one is gone, the other he’ll take
Until it is gone, there is no end
Hidden from the world, hidden from friends
Between a woman’s legs, there is great joy
The lesson passed down from man to boy
But if there is no joy or things to fix,
No beasts to fight as time still ticks
If there are no mountains to climb nor trails of grass
A man’s peace awaits at the bottom of a glass
