The mental capacity to grow.

Happy Financial fitness Friday!

3 mile run in Wichita, KS

As I was running this morning, instead of playing my normal running play list, I turned on a podcast. The topic of discussion today was taking care of your mental self. And I thought, that is a great topic for today because part of why I run and exercise so hard is because it is part of my own mental therapy.

What does mental have to do with finance? I’m glad you asked. We tend to not think about me natal health until it is too late. At that point it becomes a financial burden. Once it becomes a burden, many don’t get the help that they need, either because they can’t afford it, or they don’t have the mental space to get the needed help. So, it is important to take care of yourself, both physically, as well as, mentally.

We all have things in life that stress us, cause us anxiety, or just that we need to find an outlet for. Some people cope by drinking, others cope my talking to a professional. And either is perfectly fine of it works for you. I would just encourage that you partake responsibly, and tell the truth the to professional. My method of coping is exercise, although I do enjoy a good Old Fashioned from time to time. After a great workout, I find I have the mental capacity to grow and to carry on with my day.

When you have a clear mind, and are not full of anxiety and stress, you are clear to make better financial and life decisions. That clarity of thought, allows you to be open to new ideas, and to focus on the tasks in front of you.

When I workout, I have the mindset, that I am leaving it all on the mat (or the road). All of my stress, any problems, any anxiety that I feeling; it all gets left there. Lighting my load to handle the day.

It is more than just being physically fit, it is also about, being mentally fit as well. It is about having the mental capacity to grow!

As always, stay physically and financially fit.
