IBM donates Computers to Journalism Experiment – Today in Technology History

On January 27 1989, a grant opened the door for IBM to donate $2 million in microcomputer technology to be installed at the University of Missouri to replace typewriters in journalism classrooms.   Read the article.

Today everyone is a reporter.  Reporting news from mobile devices, blog posts, social media sites,  RSS feeds and more. Reporters, journalists,  writers and student all over the world can appreciate the introduction of computers into journalism.  Which eventually led to the development of advance word processing software, picture editing software and more.
